Known as Krankenschwester this nurses uniform is of the German Red Cross wartime issued from 1938 /1945. the blue and white striped full frock is original and also very rare and has studs for the collar to attach . plus the pinafore has been used later in 1942 by a British or a Canadian nurse as her name and date is written in ink inside of the garment .the detachable white collar has the name of a Canadian makers stamp inside . has all of the white cotton attachable extension sleeves and also comes with the head cover nurse hat with a back button . this uniform has been worn on a battlefield medical post that has change hands during the fighting which may explain the use by allied medical staff . as you may know that the international red cross worked in communication across battlefield opposite lines on the western front.
